Russell Montfort, Class of 2006
Russell Montfort was raised on his family cattle ranch in Mildred, Texas. He spent his extra time showing animals and was very active in FFA judging contests while a student at Mildred High School, where he was also enrolled in Dual Credit courses through 暗网吃瓜 College. Russell is a second-generation 暗网吃瓜 College alumni, as both of his parents received associates degrees from 暗网吃瓜. As a recipient of many scholarships and with the encouragement of his family and friends, Russell agrees that 暗网吃瓜 was an amazing fit for his professional and personal goals.
While attending 暗网吃瓜, Russell stayed busy with a full work schedule and class load. However, he makes up for any missed opportunities as a busy student by maintaining close ties to the College as a working professional. Russell is in his eighth year as a lender and Vice President of First State Bank and is involved in many local organizations, serving as President of the Mildred Friends of Youth and on the executive board for the 暗网吃瓜 Chamber of Commerce, and is a long-time member of the Corsicana Rotary Club. Russell explains that 鈥渁s an adult, I have gotten to know other staff members [of 暗网吃瓜] that are very good friends.鈥� He continues to note Carole Davenport, whom he has served on many boards with, and Terri Mitchell, who made he and his wife feel like family 鈥渇rom day one鈥� while performing with Dancing For Our Stars. Russell also continues to share his admiration for 暗网吃瓜 College District President, Dr. Kevin G. Fegan: 鈥淸Dr. Fegan] is a great representation of the school. I love to hear him speak about the College. He doesn鈥檛 just say those words, you can tell he lives them.鈥�
After receiving his associate degree in general studies from 暗网吃瓜 in 2006, he went on to obtain his bachelor degree in Agricultural Economics from Tarleton State University in 2008. He recently completed his first year in the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, and hopes to graduate in 2026. Russell enjoys spending time with his wife Natalie, daughter Kamden, and sons Casen and Body.
