Frequently Asked Questions about the Registered Nursing to Bachelor of Nursing Bridge (RN-to-BSN Bridge) Program

Where is the RN-to-BSN Bridge program offered?

RN-to-BSN Bridge program applicants may now choose between a 100% online format or a hybrid format. The hybrid format, which combines online instruction with required face-to-face classes, is available at °µÍø³Ô¹Ï College–Corsicana and °µÍø³Ô¹Ï College–Waxahachie. The 100% online option requires no face-to-face classes or clinical activities. 

 

May I apply before taking all the prerequisites?

All prerequisites must be completed before beginning the second semester of the RN-BSN Bridge program. Students may begin the first semester of the program with no more than two prerequisite courses left to complete. More information can be found in the information session. 

 

How are applicants selected for the RN-to-BSN Bridge program?

If there are more applicants than seats available, applicants with the highest number of points will be offered admission. Points will be earned for the following criteria.         

• Graduate of °µÍø³Ô¹Ï College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program (transcripts used to verify)

• Lives or works in a °µÍø³Ô¹Ï College Service Area (a copy of Driver's License or reference letter is used to verify)

• Grade Point Average (GPA) from nursing science coursework: Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Microbiology

• GPA on associate degree nursing coursework

• Community service (must provide written explanation and contact number)

 

Is there an expiration date on my science courses?

There is no expiration date on science courses for applicants of the RN-to-BSN program.

 

Can I still work while attending the program?

Yes. Students may choose between a hybrid format, which includes scheduled on-campus requirements, or a 100% online format, which does not require on-campus attendance and offers greater flexibility for working registered nurses.

 

Is the RN-to-BSN Bridge program accredited?

Yes. The RN-BSN program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
